Successful handover of the gastronomy space to Thomas Bühner

After an intensive planning phase and a ten-month remodelling phase, we handed over the first catering area in the atrium of our METRO Group headquarters to Thomas Bühner and his architectural office Kitzig Design Studios GmbH for interior fitting on schedule and in accordance with the regulations. The internationally renowned and award-winning German star chef will open his new restaurant LA VIE on the ONE METRO Campus in Düsseldorf in April 2025.

We would like to thank the team, and everyone involved for the excellent cooperation and congratulate them on the successful completion of the first milestone. We look forward to working with the restaurateurs to further develop ONE METRO Campus into a place of culinary delights and hospitality.

Since last year, METRO has been developing its own existing buildings into a modern office world and taking the opportunity to offer restaurateurs a platform at their location. In two construction phases, a new METRO Gastro Store and several restaurants are being built that reflect the diversity of the industry: from top-class Michelin-starred cuisine to traditional neighbourhood restaurants with feel-good cuisine and future-oriented culinary concepts that will complement our outstanding local gastronomy scene in the future and represent a further step towards enhancing the profile of Düsseldorf as a gastronomy location - a goal that METRO is pursuing together with the state capital of Düsseldorf and other partners.
